Garden Bloggers Bloom Day scan
Posted November 15, 2009
Hat tip to Carol at May Dreams Garden for hosting. More bloom day scans here. It’s easy. Give it a try. Directions here. At least we still have Felder’s three keys to designing with form, ’roundy, spiky, frilly.’
Colors are somber around here in November. Guess that’s why I rushed the season on poinsettias.

Nan Ondra :
The colors may be muted, but you have to love the variety of shapes and textures, and the way your scanning technique shows them off so well.
Lisa at Greenbow :
So many textures. They keep the garden interesting during the cold months. I didn’t mind the poinsetta post. I like seeing what is available elsewhere.
LINDA from EACH LITTLE WORLD :
I’d say subtle rather than somber. And there are some plants that I like as much at this time of year as when they were flowering.

Great composition! What’s the pointy, star-shaped white capsule in the lower left?

Helen at Toronto Gardens :
Lovely scan. The statiny seed chambers of the common milkweed are very decorative, aren’t they? And is that maiden grass looking like the milky way at the top?
Lynn :
That one looks like an an antique photo to me. Beautiful! Alas, I have no scanner, so can’t assemble my winter interest in the same way. since I haven’t done my gbbd post yet (Andrea nudged me on it) maybe I’ll try to assemble something. It sure felt good to be outside gardening in a tank top all day yesterday! Take that, November!
